ˇiThe reappearance of the charm of Chinese gardens, the re-interpretation of literate art ˇj
Born in Suzhou, China, Fang Yeh (1962 ) grew up in ˇ§Bi Garden,ˇ¨ studied in ˇ§Cho Cheng Gardenˇ¨ and painted in ˇ§Ting Feng Garden.ˇ¨ And now he lives in the garden built all by himself ˇ§Nan Shih Pi Chi.ˇ¨ He uses the language of painting to create his spiritual paradise and uses the art of gardening to construct actual gardens with cultural atmosphere. This exhibition area, planned by international curator Sung-jen Chang, is titled ˇ§Wen Chu Yi Chen,ˇ¨ representing Yeh's artistic activities catalyzed by his cultural spirit. In the form of a new open installation, Yeh brings the experiences of traditional culture into contemporary exhibition contexts, offering the audience a deep and brand-new spiritual experience. In Art Taipei 2007, Yeh will re-create the art of garden, and gardens with artistic atmosphere will reappear in the art fair. |
